Abstract

The edited volume International Relations: Geopolitics and Defense – Vol. I, organized by Analúcia Danilevicz Pereira and Leonardo Granato, brings together research developed within the Specialization Program in International Relations: Geopolitics and Defense at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul. Structured around two thematic sections: “Brazil: Geopolitics and Development” and “The World: Geopolitical and Economic Tensions”, the book addresses national development, security, defense, international cooperation, strategic intelligence and contemporary geopolitical disputes. This review critically examines the volume’s contribution to International Relations, emphasizing its ability to connect domestic and international dimensions and the intellectual orientation of NERINT/UFRGS. Although its theoretical and methodological heterogeneity limits dialogue and comparison among some chapters, the volume offers a relevant contribution to Brazilian scholarship in the field.

Felipe Porto de Oliveira, UFGD - Universidade Federal da Grande Dourados

Master’s student in Borders and Human Rights at the Federal University of Grande Dourados (UFGD). Specialist in Public Security and Constitutional Law from Faculdade Focus, in Human Rights and Resocialization from Faculdade Futura, and in Criminal Procedural Law from Anhanguera University (UNIDERP). Holds a Bachelor’s degree in Law from the University Center of Grande Dourados (UNIGRAN) and a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations from the Federal University of Grande Dourados (UFGD).
