Mobilizing an aesthetic approach to study international politics, this article aims to rethink the representations of piracy and antipiracy politics promoted by the influence of the United States of America and Hollywood on the neoliberal order discourses. Analyzing the critical stance of organizations, activists and scholars that recognize and defend the piracy flags, and presenting some of the piracy instruments to create (counter)cultures on cinema and music, this paper tries to destabilize the notion that criminalizes pirates and defends intellectual property.
