This article analyzes Mozambique's stance in the context of the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, focusing on the political-diplomatic and socioeconomic consequences for the African country. The central question of the debate is: to what extent did Russia's military invasion of Ukraine present a dilemma for Mozambique's foreign policy, and what were its impacts? Using qualitative methods, including a review of the literature, analysis of data from the Mozambique Energy Regulatory Authority and the Ministry of Industry and Trade, as well as Calvinist and realist theories of international relations, the research concludes that the Russian-Ukrainian conflict has placed Mozambique in a strategic dilemma when formulating its foreign policy. Moreover, the conflict has had significant impacts on both the political-diplomatic and socioeconomic levels, notably contributing to the rising cost of living for the Mozambican population.
