ABSTRACT
This review highlights the importance of the book of Damien Degeorges that deals with an issue which has gained relevance in recent years –the access to rare earths minerals– in International Relations. It is a welcome work, since there are few works about this theme. As a specialist in Greenland and Arctic geopolitics, Degeorges focuses on Greenland and the Arctic Sea as wel as on the race for access to rare earths. He discusses the interests of the European Union in ensuring its access to Greenland rare earths reserves and China's effort in strengthening its relationship with Greenland and Iceland. The book encourages new research about the geopolitics of rare earths and suggests many questions regarding the clash of major powers interests when they want to ensure their access to strategic resources, as in the case of rare earths.
