This article analyses Argentina's foreign policy concerning biofuels from 2006 to 2008. It examines the features of: a) Argentina's domestic agriculture; b) its international biofuel policy; and c) its foreign policy actions in this realm. The central hypothesis is that the configuration of Argentina's biofuel foreign policy profile between 2006 and 2008 was only possible because of the nature of its national agriculture and the development of the international fuel market.
