Abstract

The text presents a review of Carl Minzner's book "End of an Era: How China's Authoritarian Revival Is Undermining Its Rise," published by Oxford University Press in 2018. The author argues that the centralization of power adopted by the Communist Party of China is a sign of the end of the reform era and that its deepening would sabotage Chinese growth.
