ABSTRACT
This short review examines the book Strangers at our door, written by the sociologist and philosopher Zygmunt Bauman and published in Brazil by Zahar (2017). The author analyzes the origins and the impact of the moral panic generated by the intense migratory flows to Europe in recent years, as well as the process of dehumanization involving the newcomers, wich has made migrations become a matter of security rather than a moral issue.
