Abstract

The aim of this article is to analyse the English school's position on international law. Initially, an analysis is conducted of the English school's main arguments, focusing on the general importance of international law for the structuring of the main concept developed by its authors: the concept of an international society. Next, Hedley Bull's conceptions of international law are analysed. Finally, we present some of the latest developments concerning the role of norms in contemporary international society.
