Even in its traditional written form, poetry contains and manifests a constant demand for voice. As early as the beginning of the twentieth century, vocal and performatic operations of poetic language were proposed by a variety of avant-guarde movements. Later on, innovative possibilities of modern poetry were enhanced by media and formats originating from the development of sound and audiovisual media and technologies. In the second half of the twentieth century, a myriad of experiences in this field came to conform what was called Sound Poetry. In Brazil, one of the most important processes of poetic renewal by means of intersemiotic devices was Concrete Poetry and its offshoots. Based on a general view of the topics aforementioned, this article approaches the verbivocovisual work of poet Augusto de Campos, examining his poetry CD Poesia é risco.
