ANALYSING THE CATEGORY ´ASPECT´ IN SCHOOL BOOKS FROM THE 70´S TO 2000

Abstract

In this paper, we deal with Aspect categorie in Portuguese language textbooks used in the High School. We show a historical overview considering books used in 1970, 1980, 1990 and 2000. Our research aims to analyze the following topics: a) Aspect meanings; b) use of perfect and imperfect; c) role of the participle; d) progressive Aspect; e) uses / functions of aspectual auxiliary f) Aspect suffixes markers.

Doutora em Linguística pela Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina; professora do Departamento de Letras Vernáculas e do Programa de Pós-Graduação em Linguística da Universidade Federal do Ceará e coordenadora do Grupo de Pesquisas Sociolinguísticas – SOCIOLIN-CE.
