Abstract

In this article, a brief reflection is proposed on the relationships between cinema and poetry in the first decades of the XXth century in Brazil and Portugal. Special emphasis is given to the modes of reception of the new artistic manifestation by writers of the time as well as to the less predictable authors of themodernist movement.

Joana Matos Frias, Universidade do Porto

Professora Faculdade de Letras da Universidade do Porto desde 1996. No Instituto de Literatura Comparada Margarida Losa, desenvolve pesquisa sobre “Poética Comparada”. Tem publicado ensaios no campo da Estética Comparada, privilegiando as correlações entre a poesia, a pintura, a fotografia e o cinema. Foi coorganizadora do encontro 1912-2012: A Time to Reason and Compare — An International Congress on Modernism. Entre outros livros, autora de O Erro de Hamlet: Poesia e Dialética em Murilo Mendes (2002).
