Abstract

In this article, we intend to show how the oral compositions employed by Graciliano Ramos in his narrative Infância create effects that are both stylistic and interactive for its readers’ understanding, with meanings that are constructed from a need to update autobiographic facts in the present of the narrator as well as in his constitution as an autodidactic subject.

Marcelo da Silva Amorim, Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte

Doutor em Língua Portuguesa UERJ e PhD em Literatura Luso-brasileira pela University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill (Estados Unidos), éprofessor adjunto e chefe do Departamento de Línguas e Literaturas Estrangeiras Modernas da UFRN, ensina língua portuguesa na licenciatura e literatura comparada no Programa de Pós-graduação em Estudos da Linguagem (PPgEL). Seus últimos livros publicados são Autobiografia e autodidatismo no projeto literário de Graciliano Ramos (2012) e O gato de Beaugency (2013), ambos pela EDUFRN.
