Abstract

We discuss the current interpretation of Lacan’s reading of the work done by Saussure, notably his interpretation of the linguistic sign, which was conceived by Saussure, according to the CLG. From this discussion, we advocate that more than a subversion of Saussure’s ideas, what Lacan did was an accurate and innovative reading of these ideas, which puts the Theory of Value in a prominent place. Other works by Saussure corroborate this reading.
