AUGUSTO DOS ANJOS: ORIGIN AS LOSS
Keywords:
popularity, reader’s response, discursive contexts.Abstract
This essay presents a hypothesis to a critical analysis of the poetic works of Augusto dos Anjos, based on the analytical concept of “mouth complex”. For that purpose, it discusses the main tendencies of the critical studies about the poet, specially focusing on the attempts to justify his popularity, by means of the distinction between scientific, magic and poetic “discursive contexts”. It comes to a theoretical conclusion, stressing that the kind of analysis it undertook constitutes a way of accessing reader’s responses to literary works.
