Some theoretical and methodological issues for the study of linguistic variation in the higher levels of grammar

In this text, a discussion of theoretical-methodological problems concerning linguistic variation in higher grammatical levels is introduced and considerations are made about the implications deriving from the enlargement of the scope of analysis of variation beyond phonology.
