O artigo analisa o conceito de alteridade na filosofia de Emmanuel Lévinas. Tal análise leva em consideração o cenário descortinado pela pandemia da Covid-19 no Brasil. O problema de pesquisa que orienta a investigação pode ser sintetizado da seguinte forma: de que forma a alteridade e a justiça alterística levinasiana podem abrir novas leituras éticas perante a pandemia decorrente da Covid-19? A hipótese que se testará ao longo do trabalho é que a dificuldade de estabelecimento da alteridade decorre da própria construção de realidade a partir do Eu. O objetivo geral é de estabelecer uma análise entre a pandemia e a alteridade. Os objetivos específicos, que se refletem na estrutura do artigo em duas seções, são: analisar o conceito de alteridade levinasiana, e verificar como este conceito pode viabilizar novas leituras éticas do fenômeno da Covid-19. O método utilizado no trabalho é o fenomenológico, a fim de emergir com melhor delineamento a análise da percepção subjetiva desencadeada pelos fenômenos sociais, em especial do Eu em relação ao Outro da leitura levinasiana. Ao final do trabalho os resultados apontam para a necessidade de uma reflexão quanto às estruturas filosóficas e jurídicas como condição de possibilidade da alteridade.

Abstract

The article analyzes the concept of alterity in Emmanuel Lévinas' philosophy. Such analysis takes into account the scenario unveiled by the Covid-19 pandemic in Brazil. The research problem that guides the investigation can be summarized as follows: in what way can Levinasian alterity and the alteristic justice open new ethical readings in the face of the pandemic resulting from Covid-19? The hypothesis that will be tested throughout this work is that the difficulty in establishing otherness stems from the construction of reality itself based on the Self. The general objective is to establish an analysis between the pandemic and otherness. The specific objectives, which are reflected in the structure of the article in two sections, are: to analyze the concept of Levinasian otherness, and verifying how this concept can enable new ethical readings of the Covid-19 phenomenon. The method used in the work is the phenomenological one, in order to emerge with a better design the analysis of the subjective perception triggered by social phenomena, especially the Self in relation to the Other in the Levinasian reading.
