Ativismo emocional: contribuições para o debate acerca do significado moral e político da raiva

Resumo

O debate filosófico sobre a raiva foi retomado pelas críticas de Nussbaum (2016) à emoção, e continuado por uma diversidade de filósofas que se contrapõem à tese de Nussbaum e defendem o papel político e moral da raiva, como Srinivasan (2017), Cherry (2020) e Silva (2020). Nele, há duas posições contraditórias que culminam em um dilema normativo: de um lado, a raiva é considerada moralmente problemática e politicamente contraprodutiva e, de outro lado, é defendida a moralidade da emoção e sua justificação. O presente artigo expõe esse debate e demonstra que as recentes teses de Cherry e Silva fornecem meios de superar esse dilema ao apresentar perspectivas plurais da raiva.
