The configuration and meanings of sexual and erotic pleasure among university women in Mexico City

This article discusses the relationship between sexual and erotic pleasure, subjectivity and the transformations in regulations about sexuality and gender through the perspective of university women in Mexico City. Through the individual and collective speeches of these women were analyzed the discourses conforming the sexuality device about pleasure, as well as the mechanisms through which it operates and its meanings and implications for these women. Particularly, it suggests the relevance of the media and the market as novel regulators of sexual and gendered normativity, as well as social tensions regarding gender relations.Downloads
