GEOGRAPHICAL ASPECTS OF THE EDGE RIVER THE OF OIAPOQUE CITY, AMAPÁ – BRAZIL: DIAGNOSIS OF THE ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACTS

Abstract

The use and occupation of the edges in Brazilian cities present intense environmental intense dynamics and socioeconomic. The diagnosis effected through of search developed in the edge of the Oiapoque City. Being carried out the characterization of the city's edge in the urbanized perimeter with the identification of the problems and possible actions that come to mitigate or solve the existing problems. In this sense, the process of human occupation was also analyzed with the exposure of the changes in the studied space and the measures to achieve na improvement in the environmental quality in the edge were presented. Regarding the methodological procedures, bibliographic surveys were carried out with scholars who deal with the themes present article and field work was carried out with observations and analyzes “in loco”, verifying the environmental impacts from the processes of use and occupation ofthe soil in the edge of the city. Given the above, the results found are related to the process of occupation of the Oiapoque city, which took place without adequate planning; the indiscriminate removal of vegetation cover and the modification of the natural space leads to river erosion, having need for the inspection of environmental agencies to be more effective, aiming at the establishment of preventive and corrective actions, which will enable the construction of a process facing to achieving change in the behavior of the population.
