Abstract

The study has offered a discussion on the Rio de Janeiro port zone, provided an operation called Porto Maravilha. Around the thematics which were examined, segregation and the authority way of how the requalification project on the analyzed area are being managed by the executors. This urban enterprise doesn’t have a simply bond with the social justice, but an inserction area, before releasing the commercial logical plans, from a distinct position, and a capital attraction intend (as real state). It’s a result of the improvement on the works in infrastructure, and the increasingly expensive square footage in the locality, the resident population, under supplied, is to able to afford living there, what leads to residential segregation processes.
