Abstract

Located at the northern end of Cologne Brazil, the Northern Cape Lands during the second half of the 18th century were directly influenced by Pombaline Politics in its territory. This policy worked in the implementation of productive activities and in the creation of a network of towns and cities in the region. This article aims to analyze certain socio-spatial relationships in the lands of the North Cape, especially the characterization and relationship between its network of small villages, productive activity and circulation dynamics. In the northern canal of the Golfão Marajoara, Vila São José de Macapá exercised centrality in the distribution of goods to the other villages and sending the regional production to the City of Santa Maria de Belém do Grão Pará. Based on a geographical approach on the understanding of important works that deal with this dynamic in the aforementioned region, the following work is based on arguments developed in Marin (2005), Ravenna (2005), Vidal (2008), Araújo (1998), and Costa (2018).
