Critical environmental education (EE) establishes a commitment to the construction of environmental knowledge and the empowerment of communities in the appropriation of the common goods of nature (CGN). Its integration with participatory methodologies enables co-production in environmental management processes. This research investigated the potential of EE in the generation of participatory strategies that integrate community, academic and political actors in the generation of knowledge about environmental systems. A case study was made of a relevant area due to its multidimensional character in which the interest of extracting goods from nature, the conservation of water quality and the protection of wetlands converge. The objective was to design a formative path of EE that contributes to the sustainable management of the CGN of the park "El Rincón de Santa Lucía". Progress is made in the integration and generation of knowledge on interdependent factors that allow addressing the society-nature link. The fromative path goes through a sequence of formative purposes to support sustainability projects that integrate conservation and provision of goods in the long term. The triangulation of techniques made it possible to advance in the first two stages of the pathway, by identifying the territorial agents and elaborating a set of environmental cartographies; generating inputs for the following stages. Thus, EE takes on a relevant role in the design of teaching-learning-creation strategies for political projects aimed at strengthening social capacity for sustainable development.Downloads
