Resumo

O texto explora a devoção ao padroeiro da cidade do Rio de Janeiro no âmbito dastoponímias, no universo das canções e no campo dedicado aos templos sebastianosdesde os primeiros séculos de colonização até os dias atuais. Trata-se de outro esforçode compreensão da alma carioca e de sua geografia.

Abstract

The paper explores the devotion to the patron saint of the city of Rio de Janeiro in thescope of the toponyms, the universe of songs and the dedicated field to sebastianstemples from the first centuries of colonization to the present day. This is another effortto understand the carioca’s soul and its geography.
