The discussions on social vulnerability in the Brazilian context are essential to understand this problem in the contemporary context, once the debates on public policies and their effectiveness have been gaining visibility. In this way, analyzing these disparities in the regional cut, from the perspective of people's living conditions, can increasingly assist in the distribution and decision-making of the rulers. Thus, the present work aims to elaborate an analysis of social vulnerability in the 66 microregions, through the presentation of a typology of territories constructed with 20 indicators organized in 5 dimensions of analysis. With an estimated population of about 21 million people, the state is the fourth largest, with approximately 587 km² (IBGE, 2010). The methodology will cover the selection of the indicators that determine social vulnerability through the 2010 data in the IBGE, PNUD, DATASUS applicated in a factorial analysis on principal components and a final cluster analysis. Through the analyzes it is possible to understand the regional disparities and to evaluate the degree of social vulnerability of Minas Gerais. It is noted that the lowest parameters are found in the north of the state and the highest in the most urbanized regions.
