Rainhas de Bateria” in the “O Dia” newspaper: a study in to representations

Abstract

This article proposes a study into the representations of image of the “Rainhas de Bateria” in the O Dia newspaper since appearance of the character until today. Among our main objectives, we can emphasize the analysis about representation of the female body in the Rio carnival through the media. As a methodology, we will correlate the thought of authors that reflect the social representations and the female body. Such contribution will guide our central question, namely  so that the character “Rainha de Bateria” appears on the O Dia newspaper, and how this media attaches standards the character of beauty in contemporary times.
