Abstract

This article analyzed how the movies and the television constructed the female characters of the writer Nelson Rodrigues in two adaptations made of the tale Diabólica, written for a journalistic column called A vida como ela é … The objects of this study were the adaptations for the episode O Anjo, of the television series A vida como ela é…, shot in 1996 and directed by Daniel Filho; and the episode Diabólica, directed by Cláudio Torres, part of the movie Traição, shot in 1998. It was observed the historic context of the adaptations, the photography, the art direction and how these resources collaborated, especially, in the composition of the character Alicinha. In the end, it was made a comparison between characters of the television and the movie.
