Abstract

This work is about the characteristic of the city of Rio de Janeiro as headquarter for every type of event. Talks about its history, events and important buildings which marked the town’s history, the importance of this type of event, and its current position as host of national and international events. To demonstrate this city feature, this work examines the case of Pan American Games that took place in Rio de Janeiro in 2007. To better understand about the functioning of this kind of event, are given points on sporting events and marketing toward this type of event.
