Abstract

We propose an approach to notions of spectacle and privacy in that both can be considered separation technologies, i.e., inventions of modernity that are aim at isolating the individual. Our hypothesis is that the belief in images, put into question the notion of “society of spectacle,” resumed the production of subjectivity in documentaries exposing the intimacy.
