Abstract

This article analyzes a journalistic coverage about the MST, in order to propose the concept of “discursive ruin” and to map the ability of a political actor to governthe journalistic coverage, even when it is against himself. The hypothesis to be verified is that the MST is able to promote the discursive ruin of the appearance of objectivity in journalism at the same moment that the visibility of their actions is ruined by this coverage. Such order is achieved when the landless actions bring light to the discursive control played by the press.
