A importância do polo GASLUB para o desenvolvimento regional do leste metropolitano do Rio de Janeiro

Abstract

The work shows the relevance of Polo GasLub for the development of the oil and gas production chain in the Metropolitan East of Rio de Janeiro, highlighting the opportunities offered by the enterprise and the respective challenges, as well as the analysis of technological, economic, social and environmental impacts , highlighting the paradigm shift adopted by the current initiative to replace the old Comperj model, based on the implementation of an oil refinery, also proposing the inclusion of the enterprise in the regional dimension, as an instrument for the dissemination and densification of industrial activity in the municipalities of the East Metropolitan, represented by Niterói, São Gonçalo, Maricá, Itaboraí, Tanguá and Cachoeiras de Macacu. The initiative, under the responsibility of Petrobras, aims to increase the generation of qualified work and income in the region, although the collection of secondary data carried out by the research showed the presence of high informality, low salary remuneration, precarious sanitation conditions, violence and vulnerability racialized society, high school dropouts, proving the need to adopt social inclusion policies that support an industrialization process guided by innovation and sustainability.
