Proposta
A Revista Arcos Design convida pesquisadores, designers, ativistas e pensadores a submeterem artigos para este novo dossiê temático. Em um momento de emergências climáticas e sociais, a chamada busca repensar a interconexão crucial entre design, regeneração e a crescente importância de espaços agroecológicos, sejam eles urbanos, rurais ou peri-urbanos. O objetivo é explorar como o design pode contribuir para o desenvolvimento sustentável, para potencializar as inovações sociais e melhoria da qualidade de vida no campo e nas cidades.
Questionamos como, por meio do design, podemos semear outras narrativas e construir outros mundos, indo além de uma visão puramente instrumental. O dossiê se dedica a uma análise aprofundada sobre o design como agente de regeneração em ambientes urbanos e peri-urbanos, buscando pesquisas e projetos que enfrentem os conflitos, contradições e dissensos como possibilidades de moldar novas formas de fazer, pesquisar e ensinar design.
Buscamos trabalhos que abordem a relação entre design e espaços agroecológicos em suas múltiplas manifestações, como permacultura, agricultura biodinâmica e agroflorestas. São bem-vindos artigos que demonstrem como o design, em suas múltiplas facetas, pode atuar como um agente de regeneração e transformação, abordando temas como:
• Design de Produto e Infraestrutura: Inovações em design para sistemas agroecológicos, incluindo soluções para hortas em apartamentos e produções em larga escala, bem como a criação de ferramentas e infraestruturas relacionadas à compostagem.
• Design de Serviços e Estratégias: A contribuição do design de serviços para a reconstrução do tecido social em comunidades que praticam a agroecologia e o papel do design estratégico na análise de políticas públicas e na promoção da agroecologia urbana.
• Design Sistêmico e Coautoria: Projetos de design sistêmico que articulem redes de produção e consumo, e experiências de design participativo e coautoria em projetos agroecológicos.
• Pesquisas e Narrativas: Pesquisas puras sobre a relação entre o presencial e o virtual na difusão de saberes agroecológicos, a valorização do conhecimento ancestral e das práticas tradicionais, além de narrativas e representações visuais de futuros regenerativos.
Estes tópicos sugerem, mas não limitam as possíveis contribuições. Convidamos à reflexão sobre a
soberania alimentar, a valorização do conhecimento ancestral e o reconhecimento do direito humano
ao acesso à terra e à produção de alimentos saudáveis. Esperamos propostas que vejam o design como
um agente potente na construção de um futuro regenerativo e equitativo para os espaços e seus
habitantes.

Sowing futures: Design, daily life, and regeneration with plants
The Arcos Design Journal of PPDESDI/UERJ invites researchers, designers, activists, and thinkers to submit articles for this new thematic dossier. At a time of climate and social emergencies, this call seeks to rethink the crucial interconnection between design, regeneration, and the growing importance of agroecological spaces, whether they are urban, rural, or peri-urban. The objective is to explore how design can contribute to sustainable development, enhance social innovations, and improve the quality of life in both rural and urban areas. We question how, through design, we can sow other narratives and build other worlds, moving beyond a purely instrumental vision.
The dossier is dedicated to an in-depth analysis of design as an agent of regeneration in urban and peri-urban environments, seeking research and projects that confront conflicts, contradictions, and disagreements as possibilities for shaping new ways of doing, researching, and teaching design. We seek works that address the relationship between design and agroecological spaces in their multiple manifestations, such as permaculture, biodynamic agriculture, and agroforestry.
We welcome articles that demonstrate how design, in its multiple facets, can act as an agent of regeneration and transformation, addressing topics such as:
• Product and Infrastructure Design: Innovations in design for agroecological systems, including solutions for apartment gardens and large-scale production, as well as the creation of tools and infrastructures related to composting.
• Service and Strategic Design: The contribution of service design to the reconstruction of the social fabric in communities that practice agroecology and the role of strategic design in the analysis of public policies and the promotion of urban agroecology.
• Systemic and Co-authorship Design: Systemic design projects that articulate production and consumption networks, and experiences of participatory and co-authorship design in agroecological projects.
• Research and Narratives: Pure research on the relationship between the inperson and the virtual in the dissemination of agroecological knowledge, the valorization of ancestral knowledge and traditional practices, as well as narratives and visual representations of regenerative futures.
These topics suggest, but do not limit, possible contributions. We invite reflection on food sovereignty, the valorization of ancestral knowledge, and the recognition of the human right to access land and the production of healthy food. We hope for proposals that view design as a powerful agent in the construction of a regenerative and equitable future for spaces and their inhabitants.
