Abstract

O LÍRIO MURMURANTE is a translation of “The moaning lily”, a short story by Emma Vanne, originally published in the science fiction magazine Wonder Stories, on May, 1935. A brief introduction contextualizes the little that is known of the author and presents the story’s central themes. In this short eco-horror text, the narrator reunites with Carl Brense, a brilliant old colleague from college. Carl is a renowned botanist that returns from a trip to Brazil with an exceptional specimen.
