Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The contribution is original and unpublished, and is not being evaluated for publication by another journal; otherwise it must be justified in "Comments to the Editor".

  • The text has title, abstract and keywords in Portuguese and English. If the article is written in Spanish, it should have title, abstract and keywords in Spanish and English.
  • The text is in 1,5 space; uses 12-point Times New Roman font; use italics instead of underlining (except for URL addresses); When they exist, figures and tables are inserted in the text and not at the end of the document as attachments.
  • URLs for references were provided when needed.
  • The text follows the style standards and bibliographic requirements described in Guidelines for Authors in the About Journalsection, with full references at the end of the file.
  • The author is a master, master or doctoral student or Doctor of Philosophy and/or doctor in another area of knowledge and develops research on relevant topics to research in hermeneutics and/or phenomenology.

     

Author Guidelines

Guideline for Authors

EkstasisJournal accepts original and unpublished articles and bibliographic reviews in the following languages: Portuguese, English, German, French and Spanish. In addition to translations into Portuguese of relevant texts and articles already published in other journals or written in languages other than those mentioned above.

Submissions for free thematic issues will be received in a continuous stream and eventually published, after review by reviewers and editors, in the first edition of each year. Submissions for the thematic volumes must follow the deadlines stipulated by the specific call for papers published in advance. For such issues, we will examine only articles that address the theme selected for the edition and announced in previous volumes and call for papers.

Except in exceptional cases, articles should contain between 10 and 50 pages, including bibliographic references and notes. Bibliographic reviews should in principle not exceed 15 pages, including bibliographic references and notes and should present at the beginning of the text the complete reference of the analyzed works. Critical reviews must follow the format and size of the article.

Aiming at the quality of the published works and the optimization of the editorial process, requirement for submission of articles that the author is master, doctoral or doctor in philosophy and/or doctor in related areas as long as he has a research linked to the Journal theme. A maximum of two (2) authors per article is determined.


RULES FOR PAPER SUBMISSIONS

Papers must comply with the following standards:

File must be sent in .docor compatible format.

1. It must contain (a) the title and abstract of the text in Portuguese and English. The abstract should contain between 50 and 250 words; (b) a list of up to six keywords for bibliographic indexing purposes also in Portuguese and English.

2. References to authors or texts in the body of the article should meet the following procedure: (AUTHOR'S LAST NAME, date) or (AUTHOR'S LAST NAME, date, page). 

E.g..: (Descartes, 1979) or (Descartes, 1979, p. 64).Different titles of the same author published in the same year will be identified by a letter after the date. 

E.g.: (Plato, 1989a), (Plato, 1989b).

3. Footnotes shall be of a substantive nature, limited to the minimum necessary and indicated by Arabic numerals in ascending order.

4. All references used should be presented at the end of the article, listed in alphabetical order, according to the following rules:

Book: LAST NAME, Name (abbreviated). Title in italics: subtitle. Issue number, if not first. Place of publication: name of the publisher.

Collection: LAST NAME, Name (abbreviated). Test title. In: LAST NAME, Organizer name (abbreviated). Collection title in italics: subtitle. Issue number, if not first. Place of publication: name of the publisher.

Journal Paper: LAST NAME, Name (abbreviated). Title of the article. Journal name in italics, place of publication, volume and number of the journal, page range of the article, period of publication.

Dissertations and theses: LAST NAME, Name (abbreviated). year. italic title. Place. total number of pages. Academic degree and field of study [Dissertation (master) or Thesis (doctorate)]. Institution in which it was presented. Internet (electronic documents): LAST NAME, Name (abbreviated). (year). title in italics, [Online]. producer. Availability: Access. [access date].
