Peer Review Process
Double-blind peer-review process
Ekstasis Journaladopts the double-blind peer-review policy to approve contributions to be published periodically. This policy generally involves observing the following points:
1. All contributions must be submitted electronically through the Ekstasiswebsite following the five steps.
2. After the submission of the contribution, the author(s) must follow on the website the evaluation process that can last from 30 (thirty) to 60 (sixty) days.
3. The review process begins when the managing editor, after a preliminary review of the paper submitted by the author (s), appoints an editor responsible for the submission review process with the appraisers/reviewers and author(s).
4. The responsible editor, after analyzing the adequacy to the journal's guidelines and norms, submits the contribution to 2 (two) appraisers/reviewers, starting the first round of evaluation.
5. Appraisers/reviewers may be Ekstasis Editorial Boardmembersor external guests who contribute to the evaluation process and ensure the scientific quality of the publications;
6. After the result of the first round of evaluation, the author will be informed of the decision of the evaluators/referees and should provide, in case of conditional approval, within 7 (seven) days, the adequacy of his contribution to the observations of the evaluators/reviewers.
7. It is up to the editor to determine whether or not a second round of evaluation will be required for contributions approved on condition.
Throughout the evaluation process, the confidentiality and anonymity of both authors and reviewers are guaranteed. To ensure confidentiality and anonymity, authors, editors and reviewers should observe the following precautions regarding documents submitted electronically on the journal's website:
1. The authors of the document should exclude all references that may lead to the identification of the authorship of their contribution;
2. In Microsoft Office documents, the author ID must be removed from the document properties (from the File> Properties menu) by starting from File in the main menu and clicking the following: File> Save As ...> Tools (or Options on Mac)> Security Options ...> Remove Personal Information from File on Save> OK> Save.
3. In PDFs, author names should also be removed from "Document Properties" under "File" in the Adobe Acrobat main menu.
The final acceptance of contributions for publication depends on the prior favorable recommendation of the reviewers, the necessary adjustments made by the authors and the final approval of the Ekstasis Boardand Editorial Board.
