A CONTRIBUIÇÃO DA PESCA NA CONSTITUIÇÃO DE CABO FRIO COMO UMA CENTRALIDADE NA REDE URBANA FLUMINENSE

Abstract

The municipality of Cabo Frio, located in the Baixadas Litorâneas Government Region, is one of the main tourist destinations in the state of Rio de Janeiro, the vast majority of people are attracted by its beaches. This same natural element, the sea, allows the municipality to play an important role in the productive network of Rio de Janeiro, fishing. Cabo Frio has the fourth largest fishing area in the state, which allows the flow of goods between other locations in the territory of Rio de Janeiro and other Federation Units. The article's main objective is to analyze the contribution of fishing activity in the development of Cabo Frio as a centrality in the urban network of Rio de Janeiro. For this purpose, a bibliographical survey of authors and official data from the Union and state was carried out, fieldwork allowed the verification empirical. An integrative analysis of the natural and human framework is proposed to understand local spatial dynamics, given that fishing is a direct appropriation of nature.
