This paper relates three clinical cases of dentofacial deformities cases treated in Orthodontic Clinic of UERJ Dental School where health areas integration were fundamental on treatment success. The first case report describes the treatment of a 10 years old female with mosaic Turner syndrome (TS). She presented a skeletal malocclusion class II and the treatment plan consisted of facial growth control to establish a good occlusion associated with a hormone therapy that was initiated for corporal growth stimulation. The second case reports a 20 years old girl with a severe hemifacial microssomia where a large psychological and aesthetic compromising existed. She had a dental and skeletal malocclusion class II with mandibular asymmetry. She was submitted to orthodontic preparation for orthognathic surgery associated to ribbon graft to mandibular reconstruction. The third case reports a 12 years old girl with Escobar syndrome with an extensive functional and aesthetics problems. The facial deformity included severe maxillary atresia, skeletal class II with vertical growth pattern and total open bite. In all cases the multidisciplinary treatment was the main key that allowed the improvement of oclusal function and patients self-esteem.Downloads
