It is common when the patient affected by a problem in the region of the maxillary sinus, can not identify its origin, and often require a multidisciplinary solution for these cases. The intimate anatomical relationship of this cavity with the roots of the maxillary teeth reinforces the thought that health professionals must overcome the barriers of specialties and for the greatest benefit to the patient, working together in the diagnosis and treatment of common areas. In the case of alterations of the maxillary sinus, this multidisciplinarity would happen between dentistry and medicine, more specifically with the otorhinolaryngology. The aim of this work is through a literature review, pointing out the major aspects or affections that should be observed by professional healthcare when clinical signs in the maxillary sinus and/or dental elements close to this anatomical structure are presented.Downloads
