This paper departs from a neogramscian perspective to inquire the directions of the current world order towards a transition or recycling of the current hegemony. Therefore, from an exploratory and qualitative research based on books, articles and documents on the theme of the global order and the characteristics of the current IPE, the sustained hypothesis is that the systemic changes occurred in the last two decades represent a mutation from an unipolar hegemony to an interdependent hegemony, where powers from the Global North and South intertwine in a co-constitutive process of constant formation and reformulation of the international order. Empirically, data such as the greater fragmentation of power in terms of GDP per purchasing power parity (PPP), participation in the field of science and technology, as well as institutional decentralization and multilateralization are analyzed to support the argument.
