BEYOND THE END: HISTORY OF NATIONAL LITERATURE YET?
Keywords:
Literary history, Brazilian literature, literary theory.Abstract
This paper starts from the assumption that the writing of national literature is now in a moment of crisis and, according to some of the critic, it is indeed impractical nowadays – coming, therefore, to its end. At a second moment, it opposes to that idea, trying to demonstrate that if a breakdown in the history of literature truly exists, it is circumscribed to a specific traditional model and, finally, it points out a possible alternative to that model.
