Abstract

This text focuses on the work of a major name in literary stylistics in the XXth Century – Leo Spitzer (1887-1960) – , in order to, by contrasting the opposite commentaries of René Wellek and Jean Starobinski, determine its theoretical and methodological specificity regarding the question of “style” in literature.

Nabil Araújo, Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais

Licenciado e bacharel em Letras pela UFMG, mestre e doutor em Estudos Literários pela mesma instituição, na qual lecionou, no âmbito da graduação em Letras, a disciplina Teoria da Literatura (2009), e leciona, atualmente, a disciplina Literatura Comparada. Suas publicações na área dos Estudos Literários incluem capítulos de livros e artigos em periódicos acadêmicos nacionais. No momento, organiza o volume A crítica literária e a função da teoria, a ser publicado pela Faculdade de Letras da UFMG.
