The article describes an interventionist experience, from 2002 to 2003, in the Municipal House of Crafts in Apiaí, in Vale do Ribeiro, State of São Paulo, as part of activities undertaken by the National Center for Folklore and Popular Culture in the Programa Artesanato Solidário (Solidary Crafts Program), a network of partners focused mainly on direct action in artisanal communities in order to provide conditions for the continuity of activities. Instead of acting directly in rural districts, the goal was to symbolically mark the commercial and storage spaces, and display the various objects acquired for the collection since the 1970s. One of the stances of the narrative of the exhibition was to bring into space and display part of the information material, photos and texts from various public and private collections,
