Good comedies are not harmless

por Penney Trenwith (2021-03-29)

Trier directed the comedy. Any body who is even a little familiar using the work of the Dane, at the initial news on this, should at the very least be surprised, and much more correct - not believe the source. Although the fact is, you should believe? Trier, to begin with, is an innovator, a male who will not tolerate walking the beaten path and literally re-opens cinema together with his every film. Filter systems? Why don't you a comedy?

But Trier always knew how to outwit everyone and provides such a trick that this jaw often went into persistent walk. He would not change himself on this occasion either ... Comedy? Well, of course. Did anyone really expect a comedy inside standard, classic, disgustingly banal understanding with the word? Lars is unlike that. Instead coming from all this, he slipped the naive viewer into fusion from comedy, social drama, and perhaps some semblance of the thriller or simply a detective. The actual result was a movie that's outrageously topical: about losers and selfish people; about how precisely people build and 123movies destroy walls of misunderstanding in relationships; a film concerning the concern with not being loved, well, also about a cubicle atmosphere, which from any sane person, even in rapid sequence, will produce a clerk, featuring a internal cockroaches how big the a smallish Godzilla.

In the beginning, it might seem which the film is very easy and poor in good fresh ideas, being a church rat for dollars. But it wasn't there. The fact that was supposed becoming a sitcom turned into a rather deep philosophical parable with social connotations. At the same time, not a soul turned off humor from the experience, and there are even a couple of moments once you laugh - but not only somehow maliciously and deeply inside of your consciousness, but additionally you can frankly give your emotions a voice.

Trier, as usual, plays while using viewer, leaving one of the most delicious for the finale, and in the course of the plot, its formation and setting, only throws small pieces, forcing emotions to operate, and also the head to rest for time being. Only after the final credits, when you sit in bewilderment so you can understand what the heck that it was now, items of a place of work and gray mosaic slowly begin to make at my head, in the complete picture of that's buried what only the most attentive and thoughtful viewer can see.

Trier is able to create the sense of a genuine storyteller and in many cases if he manipulates, he does it exclusively for the main advantage of the viewer himself. Perhaps that is why the actors in his paintings always play in a way that they just do not create the sense of falsity and insincerity. It sometimes even appears as if on screen there are classified as the most real clerks, losers, actors, bosses as well as other inhabitants of a little stuffy office within the picture. Trier doesn't have expensive, but what perhaps there is, just at least some interesting decorations. In The Biggest Boss, we see a setting that creates a floor in Manderlea and Dogville look very worthwhile inside background. At the least, no choke like a smaller, cramped and kind of boring office space.

Realism is most importantly, therefore music is usually useless. Will we often hear music in actual, just actually talking to someone or considering our daily bread? It really is unlikely. ... So and we don't listen to Trier. Scenery, music, actors ... ok last one! A different feature of the maestro also appeared in the newest film. Now also, he provides for a storyteller, taking place stage in reference to his comments from the outset, end and core of the picture. Such performances look quite cute and charming, crowning the film in the same manner as a smallish but bright cherry crowns the top a sizable and delightful cake.

Well, and a couple of words need to be said about our next invention in the Danish genius - "Automavision” ;.A really cool thing. After the earliest reports the entire film was filmed minus the participation in the operator, I somehow expected more tin, much over I received within the end. Well, yes, in places faces of folks are halved, the digital camera would not show the interlocutors, but a nonsense, but while doing so everything isn't going to bother in the least, only brings another portion of realism on the picture.

Conclusion: Trier filmed the big game which had been passable for himself and powerful for some other director, which leaves feeling of understatement and depth, to arrive at which you must spend lots of time and effort.
