Drugs that help tinnitus, in most reported cases, don't work in the long term. So instead of drugs, why not go for alternatives instead. Right now there are hearing aids and external sounds that supposedly mask the ringing brought about by tinnitus which in term lessens the severity of the buzzing heard by the person suffering from the condition. Also, there are more well-rounded approaches that affect not just your tinnitus, but improve your well being on a more holistic level. Going for a healthier lifestyle that includes sleeping right, eating right and foregoing your vices, could lead to eradication of tinnitus.
