Quietness and calmness of the Individualogist Review spirit is the best way I start my day. Prayer before starting to work inspires me. As Samuel Taylor Coleridge once said "I know the bible is inspires because it finds me at a greater depth of my being than any other book." I believe that. That is why I always come earlier to read this book. That prepares my heart and my whole being to work. It sets my mind to think of right things to do and plan what to do for the day. Thus, I always reserve my first hour of work in quietness. I do not talk to people nor do I allow people talking to me. But of course, emergency cases are an exception. And it does work to me. It keeps my daily work pacing in place. However, quietness does not necessarily mean doing nothing for the first hour. What I mean is do your work but keep your spirit in calmness. Keep moving but not talking. That keeps you to YOURSELF, keeps you to penetrate your own system and well-being. Secondly, checking and evaluating one-self before the day retires, I think is the best thing I learned to end my day. Ask myself what I have accomplished for the day, who are the people I made happy and who have I missed to give a smile and greetings. Also check who I have hurt and need to ask forgiveness and of course my shortcomings in my work, family, friends and colleagues. After which, I prayed about it, forgive myself, and hope the next day to come would be better day than yesterday. Anyway, I only have one day at a time to grow and to learn. With so much talk about the Law of Attraction in the past few years, it's easy to think that all I have to do to create the life I want is just think and believe it. Many people start to become frustrated with themselves and the people around them because they think they are doing everything they can to manifest and visualize what they want - but still nothing happens! It's time for a reality check. Thinking and visualizing what you want is not enough. You must take action. Taking the right actions, means creating the right habits. Do you have not so good habits right now? How much effort are you putting in to changing them? It takes discipline to change your habits. The popular adage out there is that it takes 21 days to change a habit. I'm sorry to say I think this is an understatement. If you have had a habit for a long time, it can take longer than that to change. We are creatures of habit. Many of the things that you do all day long are an unconscious habit. From the way you brush your teeth, do the laundry, go to bed, get ready for work. If you think about it, you probably do these things the same way each day. Your habit is deeply entrenched in your subconscious and it takes real effort to rewire your brain for something new! If you think back, you probably have successfully changed some habits in your life. In my early 20s I used to throw my clothes on the floor when changing for bed at the end of the day. I knew it was a bad habit, but it was just set in my brain to do it. I had to make a conscious decision that I was going to change this, and start to fold and put away my clothes at the end of the day.
