Abstract
Unfortunately, today countless governments of countries--led by men whose human quality are less than desirable--can be found. As a researcher, I have been surprised in finding in the analysis of Plato's “Republic” that these insights were already present at least in the 5th century B.C. A parallelism has been made between the concepts found in this work and the actuality of certain contemporary political systems. The types of government that Plato postulates (Aristocracy, Timocracy, Oligarchy, Democracy and Tyranny) are updated based on the human characteristics of the politicians found in the international governmental panorama. As a main conclusion, it will be said that the importance of Plato's work is worthy to be renewed according current events that all humanity is going through right now (Covid-19). This work reveals its meaning and the importance and risk of the Education (or non-Education) of men when they rule.
