The consequences of human activities in nature have been a subject of concern for many years. However, this has been aggravated by the increasing occurrence of extreme events in urban centers, and it is increasingly important to know all aspects that are interspersed with cities. Thus, the objective of this research is to characterize the climatological, geomorphological, pedological and hydrological aspects of the municipality of Pinhais, part of the Metropolitan Region of Curitiba (RMC), in the State of Paraná, and, based on this, to analyze the occurrence of hydrometeorological events in the territory. It is, therefore, a predominantly descriptive study, based on secondary data provided by the municipal and state civil defense and protection coordinators. As the main result, we have the identification of the main points of susceptibility and vulnerability of the municipality, being an important management tool. It is concluded that this method helps to understand the perception of the risks in which the municipality is, assisting in the adoption of measures that minimize the impacts caused by hydrometeorological events.Downloads
