Resumo

Language teaching, as a scientific field, belongs to the science of linguistics, despite the many connections it develops and its influences from other disciplines, such as pedagogy and psychology. For teaching a language as second or foreign, more specifically, the process is even more complex, since, among other things, there is no preexisting speech in spoken language, as is usually the case with the mother tongue. However, in order to learn the culture, the culture of a party and a group community, it is useful to learn the language, to practice it and to use it as a tool and means to approach the community community.

A particular case of teaching Greek as a foreign or second language appears in the undergraduate programs of Modern Greek in the academic institutions of the United States of America. The concept of academic institutions for the purposes of this article includes colleges as well as universities, since they usually require the attendance of a four-year course and the acquisition of 120 ECTS for a degree.
