You would be shocked at how many small businesses still don't have a website that accurately portrays their product or service. Focus on making sure that the content on the website fully supports your brand and your marketing message. Marketing a small business starts with your website as one of your focal points.

Then the question is; is your market going to be big enough to provide you with 12,909 leads for the next year and how many will you need each of the following years?

Constantly self criticize. Analyze the efficiency of your website and its capacity to pull in potential clients. This should be done regularly, like a quarterly review. Ask a new comer to your website to give their opinion on how they find your website presentation. Follow where they go, what links they click on and how long they stay interested in each page.

Social Media is full of wishy-washy slogans like 'enter the conversation', 'meet customers on their terms' and 'let customers tell you what they want from your business'. How is a small business owner to make sense of any of this, let alone make money for their business?
