Abstract

In the context of a society marked by social inequalities and by conflicts resulting from violence, we find a new configuration of urban spaces in contemporary metropolis. Given the role of media narratives in shaping subjectivities and an increase in the production of documentaries for national cinematography, we intend to observe how the city of Rio de Janeiro is represented in these productions, analyzing the context of spatial and social segregation arising from these conflicts.
